1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and RemoteMerit. RemoteMerit is a brand of AppsThatWork, a sole proprietorship registered in India. "We" and "us" mean RemoteMerit. By creating an account or using the site you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

You must be 18 years or older to create an account.

2. What RemoteMerit is

• RemoteMerit is a job board. We collect remote job postings that state their pay. We show them in one place with the pay in USD and INR.
• Every job links to the original posting on the company site or on the job board where we found it.
• We are not an employer, a recruiter or a staffing agency. We do not take applications. You apply on the site of the company or the original job board.
• We do not promise that you get a job, an interview or an answer from any company.

3. Your account

• You log in with a link sent to your email or with your Google account. There is no password.
• An account is for one person. Do not share it. Do not create more than one account to get more than one free trial.
• Keep your email account safe. Anyone who can read your email can log in to your RemoteMerit account.
• The details you give us must be true.

4. Free trial

Every new account gets full access for 7 days. We do not ask for a card. When the trial ends nothing is charged. Job details and apply links are then hidden until you pick a paid plan. The job list stays open to everyone.

5. Plans and prices

• Buyers in India pay in INR. The INR prices include 18% GST. Buyers outside India pay in USD.
• Your bank or card company may add its own fees, such as a currency conversion fee. We do not control those.
• We may change prices. A new price applies from your next renewal. We tell you by email at least 14 days before. The price of a yearly plan does not change during the 12 months you paid for.

6. Payment and renewal

• Payments are handled by Razorpay, a payment company. We never see or store your full card number.
• The monthly plan renews by itself. You allow us to charge the same payment method every month until you cancel.
• If a renewal payment fails we may try again. If it still fails your paid access ends. Your account and your data stay.
• The yearly plan is a single payment. We remind you by email before the 12 months end. You decide then if you want to buy again.

7. Cancelling

You can cancel the monthly plan at any time from your account page. Or write to hello@remotemerit.com. After you cancel there are no more charges. Your paid access stays until the end of the period you already paid for.

8. Refunds

You can get a full refund of your first payment within 7 days. The full rules are in the refund policy. It is part of these terms.

9. Fair use

The site is for your own job search. You agree not to do the following.

• Copy, scrape or download the job data with scripts, bots or other automated tools.
• Resell, republish or share the job data or your account with others.
• Get around the paywall, the trial limits or any security feature.
• Disturb the site, overload it or try to break into it.
• Use the site for anything against the law.

Search engines may index the public pages in the normal way.

10. Job listings and other sites

• Job postings come from companies and from public job boards. They wrote them. We did not. A posting can be wrong, out of date or closed.
• We check our sources every few hours and remove jobs that are gone. We cannot promise that every job is still open when you click it.
• Pay in INR and pay converted to USD are estimates based on exchange rates. The pay stated by the company is what counts.
• Who can apply (worldwide, a region or one country) is read from the posting by software. It can be wrong. Check the original posting before you apply.
• Be careful with any job offer. A real employer does not ask you for money. We are not responsible for the content or the conduct of companies and other sites we link to.

11. Content and rights

• Job postings, company names and logos belong to their owners. We show them to point you to the original posting.
• The design, the text, the code and the way we arrange the data belong to RemoteMerit.
• If you own a posting or a logo and want it removed, write to hello@remotemerit.com. We remove it quickly.

12. No guarantee

We work to keep the site correct and online. Still, the site is provided "as is" and "as available". We give no warranty that it is free of mistakes, that it is always online or that it fits a special purpose. This does not limit rights that the law gives you and that cannot be set aside by an agreement.

13. Limit of liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for lost income, lost job chances, lost data or other indirect loss from using the site. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

14. Ending an account

• You can stop using the site at any time. Write to us if you want your account deleted.
• We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. For a serious break, such as scraping or reselling, we may do so without a refund.
• If we close the site for good, we refund the unused part of any paid period.

15. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. The date at the top shows the last change. For an important change we tell users with an account by email before it applies. If you keep using the site after that, you accept the new terms.

16. Law and disputes

The laws of India apply to these terms. Please write to us first if there is a problem. Most problems are solved by one email. If not, the courts of India decide the dispute.
